Sleepy Time Cold Process Soap Recipe
Made from Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Tea, the one with the sleepy bear on the box!
Recipe:
8.4 oz Pomace Olive OIl
7 oz Coconut Oil 76 degree
4.2 oz Rice Bran Oil
4.2 oz Cocoa Butter
4.2 oz Sunflower Oil
6.4 oz brewed Sleepy Time Tea
3.9 oz lye (sodium hydroxide)
.65 oz Peppermint Essential Oil
.30 oz Lavendin Essential OIl
.20 oz Sweet Orange Essential Oil
10" Silicone Soap Mold :
Follow standard cold process soap making instructions.

Peppermint, Cinnamon and Clove Decorative Cold Process Christmas Soap Recipe - Red Green and Gold
I decided to get a jump start on Christmas soaps. I already had a request for 2 dozen Christmas soaps, my choice. Here is how they turned out:
Here is the recipe I used:
Olive Oil 10.8 oz
Coconut Oil (76 degrees) 9 oz
Cocoa Butter (Deodorized) 5.4 oz
Rice Bran Oil 5.4 oz
Sunflower Oil 5.4 oz
Yields 36 oz of oil
Lye (Sodium Hydroxide) 4.949 or 5 oz
Distilled Water 12 oz
Yields 53 oz total
.60 oz Peppermint Essential Oil
.30 oz Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil
.20 oz Clove Essential Oil
(You can play around with the essential mixture to get the scent you want)
Red liquid soap color
Gold oxide powder - appx 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon
Green Oxide Powder - appx 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon
(1) Follow basic cold process soap making procedures to mix the oils with the lye water. A good tutorial is here: http://soapdelinews.com/2012/07/diy-soapmaking-how-to-make-cold-process-soap.html
(2) Add essential oils and stick blend to a LIGHT trace.
(3) Reserve 1/3 of the oil, lye water, and essential oil mixture and divide the 1/3 mixture into 3 squeeze bottles.
(4) Mix each of the colorants with a small amount of the 2/3 remaining soap mixture, each into a separate plastic container until the desired color is achieved in each
(5) Pour each colored soap mixture into the 3 squeeze bottles and shake each one to mix well.
(6) Pour the remaining 2/3 soap mixture into the soap mold. This is your bottom layer.
(7) For the top I used the swirling technique found here using the 3 colored soaps in the squeeze bottles: http://www.soapqueen.com/bath-and-body-tutorials/cold-process-soap/linear-swirling-cold-process/
