Lemongrass Basil Cold Process Soap Recipe loaded with colloidal oatmeal!

The recipe:

Distilled Water - 11.50 oz
Lye 4.40 oz

Olive Oil Pomace - 11.10 oz
Coconut Oil - 7.90 oz
Shea Butter - Refined 4.80 oz
Palm Oil - 4.80 oz
Castor Oil - 3.15 oz

Colloidal Oatmeal - 3 Tbs
Green Oxide Powder - 1 tsp or to your preference - not too much!

Ground Coffee
Cocoa Powder

Basil Essential Oil - .50 oz
Lemongrass Essential Oil - .70 oz

I followed basic soap making instructions, then at VERY light trace I mixed in the essential oils and colloidal oatmeal, mixed very well with a plastic spatula to break up the oatmeal. Pour a small amount into a separate plastic bowl and add the green pigment powder. Mix well.  You will have to work quickly as the oatmeal accelerated the trace in this recipe. Pour the yellow base into the mold and sprinkle a even layer of the ground coffee and cocoa powder mixture. Pour the green soap mixture on top and smooth or create a texture with a knife.

Two New Hot Process Soaps - Oatmeal Milk and Honey and Mocha Java

Both packed with colloidal oatmeal! Recipe to follow.

If you've never attempted hot process soap making before, this link provides excellent instructions for doing so:

Hot Process Soap Making Instructions

The basic recipe I used for each loaf (so you will need a double batch if you are making both at once) is:

Distilled Water - 11.50 oz
Lye 4.40 oz

Olive Oil Pomace - 11.10 oz
Coconut Oil - 7.90 oz
Shea Butter - Refined 4.80 oz
Palm Oil - 4.80 oz
Castor Oil - 3.15 oz

For the Oatmeal Milk and Honey recipe I mixed in 1 oz of colloidal oatmeal at the mashed potatoes stage of the hot process instructions along with Oatmeal Milk and Honey fragrance oil. Then topped with whole oats after the soap was in the mold.

For the Mocha Java recipe I mixed 1 oz of Colloidal oatmeal with 1 tbs of crushed coffee grounds and 2 tsp of cocoa powder at the mashed potatoes stage of the hot process instructions. The scent was a combination of essential oils: .10 oz cinnamon, .10 oz ginger, .10 oz patchouli, .10 oz clove and 1 oz of sweet orange.
